A girl I loved once is using the name I gave her, nowadays. I’m caught between melancholy - a worn, threadbare-canvas-coveralls sort of nostalgia - and warm soppy feelings, the sort that slosh around in my belly and make me feel generous, forgiving. I think brandy eggnog will help me sink comfortably into both.
